Heading north to Belfast

I knew little about Ireland/Northern Ireland’s history before coming here. I knew there was struggle and revolt, but wasn’t aware of how violent it really was. Until I got to Belfast. It was a day trip out from Dublin and I’m so glad I did it. If you’re ever there for a day I highly recommend getting a black taxi tour. They offer great anecdotes and insight into Belfast’s socioeconomic and cultural past. They take you to places you wouldn’t otherwise know as having a significant place in Belfast’s history. It’s such a sad city, but wonderful to experience.
